Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain celebrated the opening of the High Diving World Championship at Bahrain Harbour.
This marks the first time the Kingdom has hosted the prestigious event, a significant milestone in establishing Bahrain as a premier destination for global sports.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) attended the event alongside Captain Husain Al Musallam, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia and President of World Aquatics.

During the opening ceremony, Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, highlighted Bahrain’s recent sporting achievements, including successes at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their unwavering support of sports in the Kingdom.
Al Kooheji also praised HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid for their leadership, focusing on the importance of preparation for future challenges, such as the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
