Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Launches KAYMEK Summer School to Empower Students in Turkey

Kayseri, Turkey – The Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, attended the opening program of the Kayseri Vocational Education and Culture Inc. 

(KAYMEK) Summer School. KAYMEK, an important educational and cultural institution under the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, aims to provide an enjoyable and socially engaging summer experience for students following the closure of schools.

A Warm Welcome to Students at KAYMEK Summer School

At the opening ceremony of the KAYMEK Summer School, held at the Metropolitan Municipality Talas Social Life Center, Mayor Büyükkılıç showed great interest in the children. 

He expressed his delight to be part of the event. 

The program commenced with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, after which Mayor Büyükkılıç addressed the audience.

Mayor’s Message: Productivity, Health, and Cultural Development

Mayor Büyükkılıç began his speech by extending congratulations for the recent Eid-al-Adha celebration. 

He expressed his wishes for a more productive and healthier summer. 

He emphasized the municipality’s commitment to providing activities contributing to the student’s well-being, cultural development, and sporting interests. 

He thanked the parents for entrusting their children to KAYMEK and assured them their children would grow up self-confident.

Mayor Büyükkılıç stated, “I hope we make good use of the summer period in terms of culture, sports, and knowledge. We want our teachers to guide you in the best possible way, just as they have done so far.” 

He acknowledged the positive reputation of KAYMEK and assured the students that they would have an enjoyable time, gain valuable knowledge, and enter the upcoming academic year fully prepared.

Encouraging Words to Students

Addressing the excited students, Mayor Büyükkılıç assured them that KAYMEK Summer School was not like a regular school but rather a place for them to spend time with increased self-confidence.

He emphasized that the municipality, teachers, and staff were there to support and guide them. 

Mayor Büyükkılıç also revealed that the KAYMEK Summer School graduation ceremony was scheduled for Saturday, August 26, and encouraged the students to make the most of their time there.

Appreciation for Kayseri’s Support and a Promise to Serve

Mayor Büyükkılıç expressed his gratitude to the people of Kayseri for their support and appreciation of the city. 

He reminded the students that they were integral to Kayseri’s success and encouraged them to cherish their city and one another. 

The Mayor pledged to continue serving the city, highlighting the collaborative efforts among the 16 districts and expressing his dedication to working hand in hand with fellow mayors.

A Memorable Visit to the Classrooms

Following the opening ceremony, Mayor Büyükkılıç visited each classroom to greet the students and teachers personally. 

He wished them well in their studies and shared a souvenir photo session with the students, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Gratitude from an Earthquake Survivor

During his visit, Mayor Büyükkılıç met an earthquake survivor from KahramanmaraÅŸ who expressed deep gratitude for the support received from the people of Kayseri. 

The survivor, accompanied by his child attending the Summer School, offered prayers and thanks to the Mayor for the city’s immense support.

The KAYMEK Summer School is set to provide a fun-filled and enriching summer experience for the students of Kayseri, fostering their personal development, cultural growth, and academic readiness.
